After my relaxing rest day yesterday, I headed out to the gym this evening for a little swim practice. I brought my Flip Mino with me to capture the excitement from underwater, but the camera was too buoyant and floated. I will try this again with more weight. Despite the technical difficulties, I did get some great footage of my workout from the end of the lane.
What I saw immediately was the lack of full body rotation. The body should twist, shoulder to shoulder in the water with the arm swinging down into the water as you rotate to the opposite shoulder. I only do this when I turn to breathe, which makes me work too hard. The video is extremely enlightening to me.
