Aric In Training focuses on the journey of Aric Monts as he strives to become a competitive triathlete. Through discussion of key training metrics, presentation of training data, and creative exploration of workouts, he hopes to inspire others to live a fit lifestyle and complete their first triathlon.
Aric’s journey began in November 2007, when he set the goal of finishing the 2008 Santa Barbara Triathlon sprint course. After hiring a personal trainer, Aric discovered that each baby step toward this goal would require changes in all areas of his life. Not only would this require him to be more active, but would also require steps in improving nutrition, creating a network of support, and building a new life. Changes that do not occur overnight.
Through pain and suffering, milestones that made him cry, the good and bad moments, and realizing just who he really was, Aric’s journey is one he will never forget and will repeat again in a heart beat.
